Goa Experience : Part 2

Reached Vasco Railway station, and again after lots of bargain took cab for Madgaav, which is 80 km. away. Vasko is bustling in morning crowed and rain making it more hazardous. After crossing city hustle-bustle we reached in outskirt area which is beautiful and due to monsoon it becomes lush green. Cold winds and splash of rain is reminding me of Nainital. Although Goa is famous for winter but monsoon is also dazzling and peaceful. Rain, wind and all over green is making it miraculous. On the way I spotted many Portugal architect churches. Goa is a Christian city so in every turn and corner I saw churches. Small church, big church, medium church every type of church. Mostly houses are also made by Portugal architect and roof has almost same in every house. It’s still drizzling. I took breakfast in a roadside restaurant where few young boys are working and few old chaps are gossiping for time pass.  Anyway breakfast is scrumptious and coffee is mind blowing…

I will stay in apartment of Vagator near Chapora village, which is peaceful and far from city’s hustle bustle.  This would be wonderful experience for me...

After taking some rest and refreshment I off to see Fishermen’s beach. I walk through the small village market. People look simple. I noticed every Hindu house has Tulsi tree in their verandah and every Christen has Cross mark in their verandah but architect of all houses are same and surrounded by coconut trees. Huge and beautifully architected temples are also showing their presence. Again I went into road side restaurant which utterly village type small and unmanaged restaurant. I sit on wood made long bench and order for tea. Middle aged copper color man serves me tea and asks if I want something to eat. I wanted to taste local stuff so he offers me food call Koimalai after this he offered me piece of Goun too. Both are Goan delicacy and are good in taste...

Fishermen’s beach belongs to the fishermen. They catch fishes and other sea products for their livelihood. Some of them are busy in doing their work. Few foreigners are also strolling. Lots of small, silvery skin dead fishes are on the bank. I look there bright silvery skin and wait them to swim again but it could be my childish fantasy only. Far away fishermen's colony is appearing in the scene. Huge boats, made by dry grass and on it typical Goan roof has been placed, are in array. In front of these boat houses huge blue ocean is taking breath and showing the aliveness through big waves. After spending few second I turn to Chapora Fort which built in 15th century by Portuguese...

Here I found many Hindus cemetery too, who were criminated here. Chapora Fort is huge but abandoned now. All history has been covered by the green grass. I took long and steep walk to reach on the top of fort and sit in a corner to view the ocean which is far below. I saw huge ships in ocean, which are looking like dwarf ships from here. Some more tourists are also enjoying but most of them are behind the bushes with their partners…

I walk back to main road and take road to Vagator Beach. I take long walk for beach. On the way I saw many Restaurants bar and other shops but mostly are closed because according to Goa this is off season. I enjoy walk with mystery when will beach come. When I hear the music of huge waves, it was not difficult to solve the mystery that I almost reach to Vagator beach. It was my good luck I found one open restaurant and in next moment I was inside. This place is awesome. I can see the ocean, the waves, cool breeze and the tourists who are enjoying with full zeal. I order snacks and a glass of fanny, which is local liquor made by cashew nuts. Young guy comes and serve from the bottle of Signature Whisky. I stop him to serve he said - We store Fenny in these bottles. Don’t worry we will serve you a good Fenny. I take first sip and then many more. After every sip everything is looking more and more appealing. No doubt it was good in taste and quite effective. Waves of ocean are getting bigger and bigger meanwhile a dog comes and sit on the middle of the waves. Though dog would be here for fishes but not going for it. I think he is here to give me some shots...

After finishing drink I finish food of spicy Kolhapuri sabzi and roti. After food I went to beach to feel the tenderness of waves and wet send. When my feet touch the wet send I become relax and then suddenly huge wave comes and make me all wet. It was an out of the world experience. I take long walk with long and small waves. As much as waves are coming to me I become more relaxed and relieved. I spend long time walking with water, wind and wave all together...

Evening I off to walk again but all is silence. Only few foreigners are spending time in bars and listening soft music in dim yellow light. I take long walk in dark road and then back but it rain heavily and I get drenched by the time back to room. All is peaceful here only cicadas are noising outside…
